What a beautiful fall Saturday! It started with a productive. and fun, meeting with some of my fellow KC Women in Film and Television board members at the Blue Bird Cafe this morning. Afterwards, one of the gals and I went for more coffee and spent a couple of hours going over our new business plans – she’s working on a new web cooking series, and I’m working on my new multi-media art business. More to come on that later.
This afternoon, a couple of friends and and I explored a short trail at the Parkville, MO Nature Sanctuary and soaked up some crisp fall weather. Finally, I met met more friends at Trezo Mare in Briarcliff for cocktails and conversation. All in all, a pretty good day! Tomorrow, I’m shooting some video and going to see my new “great” niece… she is a real sweetheart.
Here are a few shots from our nature walk.
The branches are almost bare now.
Even though the northeast US was just hit by the full force of Superstorm Sandy and many are struggling to recover, we’ve been mighty dry in the Midwest all year, so what’s usually a larger waterfall was vastly smaller and slower.
There are still patches of sparkling water.
And whispery faded blossoms.
I thought these twisty tree trunks wove an uneasy pattern.
Meanwhile, back in the sunshine, Stacy and Sandy stroll past a long, long shadow.
Finally, a few brown ribbon branches and tiny red berries peaking out.
