Our photography club, Digital Dimensions KC, went on a field trip a few weeks ago at Kaw Point, a spot along the Kaw River that overlooks downtown Kansas City. We wanted to shoot at sunset, and although I couldn’t find my tripod (which I needed for the low light), I decided to go and take some shots anyway. It was a beautiful evening, and I’m glad I went.
Taken when we first arrived
Autumn leaves along the walkway
I loved the sunlight through the trees
A little abstraction
Reflections on the windy water while we were settling in
Getting more interesting
Definitely more drama with the darkness and strong reflections. I think this looks a little over processed, but actually I did very little to the image.
Finally, a little zooming fun
Okay, now it’s really “finally.”
And that’s all she wrote. I’d been wanting to shoot photos at Kaw Point forever, and now I’ve done it. I’m not sure I’ll feel the need to do it again, but never say, never.
