Some beautiful flowers for my birthday from a dear friend and her family. Many happy wishes today, and hopefully a great year to come!
I’m resting up for my niece’s wedding this weekend. It will be bittersweet… her Dad, my younger brother Marty, died unexpectedly last year of a heart attack, and we will all miss his presence even more than we do every day.
He was a special Dad to his two daughters and a wonderful brother to me. His birthday was July 23rd, and he was almost exactly a year younger. He hated it when we were little and people thought we were twins!
On days like this, I miss my Mom and my Dad, and now I miss Marty, too. But the wedding will go on, and we’ll laugh and cry, and they would all be happy and proud.
